Description: The scheme, completed by Balfour Beatty construction on behalf of The University of Edinburgh comprises a number of Student Accommodation buildings, a University Outreach Centre and a public café/bistro.
The campus also provides new retail, social spaces and landscaped courtyards alongside residential accommodation for 924 post-graduate students. The project was a collaboration with Oberlanders Architects, 442 Interior Design and HarrisonStevens Landscape Architects on the north block and Richard murphy architects on the south Block.
Marshall Brown produced a solution for the bespoke projecting oriel windows to the south block, engineering a supporting steel structure, aluclad windows, membranes, flashings which were all installed into techcrete pre-cast concrete panels at their facility in Brigg, north lincolnshire.
The north block consisted of curtainwall with aluminium and timber feature cappings and silicone glazed rooflights.
